Mercedes AMG Class, also known as Mercedes-Benz GmbH, is an independent engineering firm specializing in Mercedes vehicles. AMG has been in business since 1967. They started off just designing and testing race engines, and now they’re building custom road cars up to Mercedes standard. Mercedes Benz AMG offered engine performance packages, alloy wheels and styling products between 1980-1985.

Mercedes AMG Class models typically have more aggressive looks, a higher level of performance, better handling and stability, and feature more extensive use of carbon fiber than their regular Mercedes counterparts. AMG models are typically the most expensive and highest-performance of each Mercedes class, with the exception of non-AMG V12 models found in the most expensive nameplates of the line up.
